Story
Dear supporter,
I'm fundraising to support the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) and its mission to find a cure for brain cancer. Knowing the incredible impact MHF has on patients and their families, I’m inspired to do my part to make a difference.
About Me:
My journey through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery from brain cancer has been one of the hardest and most life-changing experiences I've ever faced – and through it all I was supported, and continue to be supported by Natasha, one of the wonderful MHF Brain Cancer Care Coordinator Nurses. The journey has made me stronger and more determined to give back, to support the MHF in research and in the provision of Care Coordinators, and to raise awareness for others who are still battling this tough disease.
The Challenge:
In late August 2025, I’m taking on the Heysen Flinders Ranges Challenge. This challenging trek through the stunning South Australian landscape is a personal mission for me – not just for fitness, but to raise funds for brain cancer research. This trek is a symbol of my strength, resilience, and the hope I have for a future where brain cancer is a treatable condition.
Why I'm Fundraising:
When I was first diagnosed with brain cancer, I felt as though my world had turned upside down. There were so many unknowns, and at times, I felt overwhelmed by the uncertainty. But through it all, I found hope in the amazing medical professionals and the cutting-edge research that is paving the way for better treatments and, one day, a cure. I owe my survival to these advancements, and I want to ensure that others facing the same fight have access to the same life-saving treatments.
Brain cancer remains one of the most challenging and underfunded areas of cancer research. Every donation brings us closer to new treatments, better outcomes, and eventually, a cure. By supporting this fundraising campaign, you're helping to ensure that more survivors like me can walk away from this diagnosis and continue to live full, happy lives.

The Goal:
My goal is to raise $10,000 to support the Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) and their vital work in brain cancer research. Every dollar counts, and together, we can make a real impact.
How You Can Help:
Donate: No donation is too small. Every bit makes a difference. You can contribute online via my fundraising page.
Share: Spread the word! Share my fundraising page with your friends, family, and social networks. The more people who know, the closer we get to finding a cure.
Join Me: If you're feeling adventurous, why not sign up to walk alongside me in the Heysen Flinders Ranges Challenge? Together, we can make a bigger impact!
Thank You - I am so grateful for your support. Whether you donate, share my campaign, or simply send words of encouragement, you’re making a difference in the fight against brain cancer. Together, we can help ensure that brain cancer no longer has to be a death sentence for most, and that more survivors can live to share their stories.
With heartfelt thanks,
Margaret
